With so many people considering bankruptcy, John N. Skiba, an Arizona bankruptcy attorney for the Jackson White Law firm, decided that he would produce a series of informational videos about the basics of the bankruptcy process. A total of four videos have been produced at present and are available to the public at their website.

The videos are brief and basic in nature. The first video is an introductory video describing the bankruptcy process in general and how it can help those in financial distress. It talks about how bankruptcy can discharge debt and about the automatic stay imposed once the bankruptcy process is initiated. He also offers free bankruptcy consultations.

In one video John speaks about chapter 7 bankruptcy. The information he shares tells how it is a liquidating process, meaning that in exchange for having debt discharged, certain assets will have to be surrendered and the proceeds will go to the debtor’s creditors. He councils to always have a bankruptcy attorney to help guide through the Phoenix AZ bankruptcy process.

In another video he talks about chapter 13 bankruptcy and chapter 13 cram down. Chapter 13 requires that some or all of the debt be repaid over time through a restructured payment plan, often with better interest rates and less debt overall. A plan is drafted by the debtor and AZ bankruptcy lawyer and then submitted for approval. The plan is put into effect and repayment begins typically 30 days after filing.
